Cheering & dancing from middle to high school, Shelby cheered on the Varsity squad and was also chosen as captain. These leadership skills helped her to become the motivated, vivacious and ambitious women she is today. Throughout her years of pageantry, Miss Shelby competed in high school pageants, college fraternity pageants and placed in many also winning “Best Talent”.

Rosie Nwakanma
Miss Rosie Nwakanma
grew up in Tallahassee, FL and recently relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina from Horseheads, New York.   She graduated from Florida A&M University with a Bachelor degree in Biology  Pre-Med with a minor in Chemistry.  She also obtained her MBA with a concentration in Marketing from FAMU School of Business.   At the University, she founded the FAMU Elite Competition Cheerleading squad, which is still going strong.   Rosie spent the early years of her career as Sourcing Manager and currently works as a Marketing Manager at Polymer Group, Inc.   Rosie continues to follow her passion for dancing as she takes classes at different studios in Charlotte.  Rosie has coached high school cheerleading for a number of years in Florida and New York and also served as a judge for collegiate tryouts.  She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Rosie started dancing at the age of 13 in church where she did various lyrical numbers during seasonal plays.  With no formal training, she tried out for her middle school cheerleading and did not make the squad.  However, this did not stop her from continuing to pursue her interest in cheerleading.   During her sophomore year in high school she tried-out for and made the JV cheerleading squad and later made the Varsity squad where she was named co-captain her senior year.   She was also chosen to attend the Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City and was chosen as a Universal Cheerleading Association (UCA) All-star cheerleader.  In addition to cheerleading, Rosie also played soccer and ran track where she won several awards and medals.   Rosie also had the privilege and honor to serve Tallahassee as Junior Miss Tallahassee City Queen in ’97-’98.

Rosie attributes many of her leadership skills to her experiences as a cheerleader and dancer.   She has learned so much by following her passion and continues to share her joy and love of the sport with children everywhere.   Rosie has been able to share her talents from Florida to New York and now Charlotte and is delighted to work with the children of Made.
